March 2017

Wichita, Kansas – February 9-12, 2017

Submitted by: Matthew Peacock, External VP, House Manager, Delta Tau Delta

Delta Tau Delta chapters are divided into five geographic divisions. Every winter, members gather in a place chosen within their division to celebrate the Fraternity, brotherhood, and learn skills to help lead their chapters. There are a number of skills every officer needs to be successful in his position. At division conferences, members can speak to brothers who hold the same position at other chapters and learn essentiWPD2al skills and discuss best practices. The Fraternity provides meaningful programming focused on traditional needs and chapter operational issues.

During the general session, opening comments were made by Dan Loving, Western Plains Division President. This was followed by Educational Breakout Sessions designed to provide learning components specific to each members’ position within the organization: president, vice president, treasurer, etc. Some of the topics discussed included: “Ethical Decision Making,” “Strategic Planning for Your Organization,” “Conflict and Communication,” and much more.

The overall benefits of attending the conference are the opportunities that members have to speak to other chapter members to discuss academics, philanthropy, or ways of improving their individual chapters.
