Flux is a nationwide annual student design competition offered by AIGA Blue Ridge. It was established in 2006, and highlights the best creative work produced by undergraduate and graduate students from across the country. Flux competition recognizes exceptional design work created by students in the following categories: identity, publication, poster, packaging, and web/interactive. This year, 628 entries were submitted, of which 119 projects were selected by a jury of prestigious professionals including Niki Blaker, Brian Singer, and Oen Hammonds. This year’s Flux Student Design Competition was one of the largest and most competitive ever.

After the selections are made, the selected projects are then showcased in a gallery exhibition as well as online. On Saturday, February 4, AIGA Blue Ridge hosted a reception to honor all of the Flux winners. Click here to see a complete list of the award winners and categories.

Laurel Webster, AIGA Blue Ridge President, spoke to the attendees of AIGA Blue Ridge Flux. SHSU Student Design Director, Cristal Zuniga, received Honorable Mention for her Department of Dance booklet. “It was a unique and extremely important opportunity for me as a graphic design student to meet the AIGA Blue Ridge Board of Directors; Laurel Webster, President, Wendy Addington, Secretary, Kimba Green, Social Media Chair, and Aynex Mercado, Web Chair,” said Ms. Zuniga.
