The Fitness Program offers comprehensive activities for the Bearkat Community. Programs include Group Fitness Classes, Personal Training, Fitness Workshops, Certifications, and a variety of weight room and cardio equipment.
Recreational Sports and the Nutrition Graduate Program at Sam Houston State Univesity are teaming up to provide you with Nutrition Education. Whether you are wondering how much you should be eating, healthy vs. unhealthy food, or some general tips on how to eat better, our graduate dietetic interns are here to help you. Interns will be available on the spot Tuesday-Thursday, as well as via email at Fitness@SHSU.EDU. Be on the lookout for nutrition workshops throughout the semester! If you would like additional nutrition education, please register online.

The Wellness Works program objective is to encourage faculty and staff to utilize on-campus facilities and resources to achieve and maintain an improved level of personal health, which research shows leads to improved job performance, increased work satisfaction and reduced health care/insurance costs.
