15 Tips to Living a Healthy, Active Lifestyle

  1. Walk, ride your bike, or skate to class.
  2. Eat a piece of fruit every day.
  3. Eat breakfast every day.
  4. Choose fresh fruit and 100% fruit juices over concentrates and soft drinks.
  5. Choose healthier snacks like veggies, fat-free crackers, and popcorn.
  6. Try not to snack mindlessly, only eat when you're hungry.
  7. Visit the Rec Center (RSC) and try a new activity!
  8. Pack your own lunch and pre-portion your meals and snacks for the day.
  9. Choose healthy fast food options.
  10. Keep your metabolism going, don't skip meals. (Try to eat 6 small meals a day.)
  11. Set a regular schedule to eat meals all or most days of the week.
  12. Limit alcohol consumption. (It's empty calories.)
  13. Measure portion sizes especially at the dining halls.
  14. Stay hydrated and
  15. Drink at least eight 8oz. glasses of water daily.
