Weight Room Rules

For your safety and the safety of those around you, please observe the following polices and comply with the requests of staff. Failure to do so may result in your being asked to leave the facility.

  • A towel larger than 6x6 must be with you and visible at all times.
  • Proper athletic attire is required, no midriffs should be exposed
  • Backpacks must be kept in lockers
  • No chewing gum
  • Vulgarity or inappropriate comments of any type are prohibited
  • No food, glass, or open containers of any kind are allowed in the weight room
  • For safety, do not use cell phones while on machines
  • Equipment issues should be reported immediately to weight room staff
  • Use of cardio equipment should be limited to 30 minutes (during peak hours)
  • Wipe down machines, including cardio machines, and re-rack weights when you are finished
  • Spotters and collars are recommended for all lifts
  • No moving of nonadjustable benches
  • No weights on the benches
  • Weights must be controlled at all times
  • No banging or dropping of weights
  • Chalk is not permitted
  • No barbells allowed on the floor
