Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum

The Coliseum is home to SHSU Volleyball as well as the SHSU Men's and Women's Basketball teams. The Coliseum hosts a variety of recreational sports activities and university calendar events including graduation, concerts, campus organization events, summer camps, and family shows. The Coliseum was completed in 1976 and originally called University Coliseum. The name was later changed to the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum, in honor of long time Board of Regents member, Bernard G. Johnson of Houston. The building hosts approximately 80 events each year, spanning 250 days.
