SHSU EARTH DAY - MONDAY, APRIL 23

Join Recreational Sports, Dining Services, Facilities Management, Residence Life, SHSU Dining and others as we work to make Sam Houston a more sustainable community.  Programs and activities are scheduled throughout the week.

Stop by General's Market for SHSU Earth Day. Several departments and organizations on campus will be out displaying information on how to be more responsible and contribute to a sustainable SHSU.

Come see an all-electric BMW, learn more about how to be sustainable, and enter to win prizes! –sponsored by the RCEA Club.

Pot a Plant with Residence Life – April 23 - 11 am – 2 pm – LSC Mall

Need to green up your living space?  Stop by the Residence Life tent to pot a plant to take home with you.  Plants, pots, and soil will be provided (while supplies last).

Campus Tree Tour - 10 a.m. - LSC Front Stairs

Did you know SHSU has been recognized as a Tree Campus USA? Join the university Arborist, Evan Anderson to learn about all the different types of trees on campus.

Aramark-Veg Out With Plant Forward w/ SH Dining Services -

Visit the SH Dining table to learn about the effects of meat-based protein compared to plant-based protein in the food chain and what each does to our earth.

SH Dining will also be educating students on our Waste & Production logs for proper food prep with minimal waste and will have literature from General Mills on their sustainability efforts across the globe.

Take the Pledge with Facilities Management 

Learn about shredding, paper recycling, and energy efficiency tips from our friends in Facilities Management. Take the pledge and get a reusable grocery tote.

Clothing Drive (through Finals Week):

Bins will be located outside the RSC and several Residence Halls. Get a start on your end of semester cleaning by contributing your textiles to a great cause.
