Parking at SHSU-The Woodlands Center
If you will only be parking at The Woodlands Center, you will need to register for a red permit at The Woodlands Center at no cost (please read below for available dates to register and pick up your red permit). If you will be parking at the Huntsville and The Woodlands Center campuses, a parking permit will need to be purchased at the Parking and Transportation Office located in Huntsville. The permit that you purchase (Commuter Student, Resident Student, Faculty/Staff, Remote) will serve as your permit for both the Huntsville and The Woodlands Center Campus. Parking Permit Registration Dates at The Woodlands Center
Graduate Student Orientation on August 21st from 3:00PM to 8:30PM
Graduate Student Orientation on August 24th from 8:00AM to NOON -SHSU Huntsville
September 3rd, 4th, 5th and 9th from 3:00PM to 6:00PM

Walk-in Purchase of Parking Permits Available for Purchase
Permits are now on sale for walk-in purchase at the Parking and Transportation Office through the beginning of the Fall Semester. If you would like to purchase your permit online, you have until August 9th at 5:00PM to do so.

NEW! Parking Rules and Regulations and Maps for 2013-2014
No pricing changes in the cost of permits or fines for violations were made for the 2013-2014 year. Major changes include:
The addition of the Veterans Parking Policy.
The addition of Red Permit Zones used exclusively at The Woodlands Center Complex. These permits do not validate parking at the Huntsville Campus. Red Permit parking is identified on the 2013-2014 Parking Map.
The removal of Adams House and Allen House from the list of applicable Residence Halls.

Purchase of 2013 Fall Permits now available online only
Permits are required to park on the Huntsville campus. Please be aware that permit charges will be posted to your University account within 24-72 hours. Select your choice of permit and whether you would like to receive your permit via registered mailing address or by picking the permit up at the Parking and Transportation Office on August 1st. Walk In Registration for Fall Permits will begin Thursday, August 1, 2013.
Faculty/Staff: If you would like to participate in the payroll deduction payment plan, please select to pick up your permit in the office rather than choosing to have the permit be mailed to your registered address. A payroll deduction form must completed and signed at the Parking and Transportation Office to participate in the program.
Parking Changes on Campus at SHSU
Fall 2012
Parking Lot Closed Due To Construction
Faculty/staff parking lot P32 between Smith-Kirkley and the Lowman Student Center is closed due to the demolition of Smith-Kirkley Hall. This lot will remain closed and will be used for the eventual expansion of the Lowman Student Center.
Parking Garage Hourly Rate Change
Effective Aug. 16, 2012, hourly rates in the parking garage increased as follows:
0-1 Hour $1.25
1-2 Hours $2.50
2-3 Hours $3.75
3-4 Hours $5.00
4-24 Hours $6.00
Hourly parking entry involves pulling an entry ticket, to be paid at exit by credit card (no cash accepted). Lost ticket fee is $10.
Parking Garage Contract Spaces
Parking Garage contract spaces are now reserved from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only. This change was made to better accommodate evening special event guests at the Gaertner Performing Arts Center, Lowman Student Center, and other venues.
