Parking Changes for Academic Year 2017-2018

The following changes and additions have been made for the 2017-2018 academic year.  Remember, parking closures can occur with short notice for construction and events.  Please follow us on Twitter, @SHSUParking, and monitor your shsu.edu e-mail address for the most up to date information related to parking on campus.

New Parking Lots and Areas Available

Z1-24 West Motorcycle Parking- Motorcycle parking has been made available on the North side of Z1-24 West near the Chemistry Forensic Science Building.

Z2-49- Lot 49 will be a Zone 2 lot in the South portion of campus located on Avenue J near Lot 48.  Lot 49 has a concrete surface and provides 96 vehicle spaces.

Z2-62- Lot 62 is a new Zone 2 lot located North of  Z2-1 and the Criminal Justice Building.  Lot 62 is has a concrete surface and provides127 vehicle spaces.

Overflow 65-  Lot 65 is one of the newest additions of parking at the SHSU Main Campus.  This lot carries the designation of Overflow parking and is only available Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 5:00PM.  Lot 65 currently has a crushed rock surface for temporary parking.  Any valid Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, or Residential ePermit may park in Overflow.  The cost for an Overflow only ePermit is $50.00 for the academic year.  The Overflow ePermit does not include evening or weekend parking privileges.

Parking Lot Designation Changes

Lot 48-  Previously Zone 2, Lot 48 will be changing to a South Residential lot.  This lot was specifically designed to accommodate residents within the Piney Woods residence hall and other South Residential areas such as Randall, Vick, Spivey, White Hall, and Raven Village.

Lot 30- Previously Zone 1 West, Lot 30 has been redesignated to North Residential with the exception of key areas being specifically signed as Zone 1 parking.  Additional motorcycle parking has been made available in this area near the intersection of 17th Street and Avenue J.

Lot 36- Previously a North Residential lot, lot 36 will be redesignated as a Zone 1 General area.  Since this lot is on-street parking along East and West sides of Avenue I, any Zone 1 ePermit will be able to park in the available parallel spaces.

Lot 37- Previously Zone 1 West, Lot 37 will be redesignated as a North Residential lot.
