It is The Parking and Transportation Office’s responsibility as part of Sam Houston State University’s Department of Public Safety Services to provide our community and customers with a parking experience that is conducive for a superior learning environment. To that end, our office manages the enforcement of the university parking rules and regulations using the following mission, vision and values:
The Mission of Parking & Transportation is to support the mission of Public Safety Services by providing integrated transportation solutions for the Sam Houston State University Community.
The Vision of Parking & Transportation is to be recognized as the departmental model for customer service, customer involvement, communication, and long-range planning.
In addition to the values of Public Safety Services, Parking & Transportation values:
- Keeping our customers informed on all parking issues;
- Offering our customers the opportunity to provide feedback;
- Using new technologies to improve service; and,
- Providing our customers with multiple parking and transportation options.
To offer our community a clear line of communication, a monthly report including information pertaining to citations, appeals and permits will be published on the Parking and Transportation webpage, www.shsu.edu/parking. The document will be available for view, download, and print or by paper copy upon formal request.
