The SHSU Internal Grant Program is reaching the home stretch for awarding the recipients of a 2016 internal grant. For FY16, the FRG (Faculty Research Grant) program has received 33 applications, of which a minimum of 10 submissions will be awarded. The ERG (Enhanced Research Grant) program has received 20 applications, of which a minimum of 10 submissions will also be awarded. The submission dates closed October 12 and October 1, 2015, respectively.

The FRG and the ERG are University-funded grant programs. The FRG awards the recipients up to $5,000 each, covers the summer months, and requires a final report at the end of the grant period. The ERG awards each recipient up to $15,000, covers a longer period of time, and also requires a final report. Additionally, the ERG requires the applicant to submit an external grant within a year of the end of the grant period.

The Faculty Research Council makes all decisions applicable to the internal grant program. The Council plans to make a final decision for each program before spring break. After all approvals have been received, the applicants will be notified via campus mail whether or not their submissions were approved for award.

The guidelines and more information about the program are located on our website. Make plans now to submit an application next fall.
