Application Walkthrough

What needs to be done?

Planning Your Application
  • Develop a research topic
  • Schedule a meeting to discuss the suitability of your topic with ORSP
  • Prepare new IACUC/IRB application (must reflect the EXACT title of your proposed research project and cover June 1, 2015 - May 31, 2016)
  • Write your Concept Paper on your specific research topic (2-4 pages, 12 point font, single-spaced)

Submitting Your Application
  • Fill out ERG Application; do not add empty filler pages
  • Have your application approved by your department chair and academic dean
  • Submit your application to ORSP by Monday, October 6, 2014

Notification of Award and Research Work
  • Wait for decisions on awarding of grants from the Faculty Research Council (decisions to be made by mid-March 2015)
  • Ensure that your IRB/IACUC submission has been fully approved no later than April 2015
  • June 1, 2015 - August 31, 2015: Fiscal year 2013 funding period for ERG recipients
  • September 1, 2015 - May 31, 2016: Fiscal year 2016 funding period for ERG recipients

Completion of Research & Final Report
  • Submit the Final Research Report to the Associate Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs on or before by August 15, 2016
  • Complete and submit final report
