Meredith Conrey

Director of Leadership Initiatives

Meredith Conrey, Director of Leadership Initiatives, is originally from Houston, Texas. She received both her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication in 2004 and her master’s degree in Educational Administration with a focus in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education in 2006 from Texas A&M University. Prior to working at SHSU, Meredith worked at Baylor University in Campus Living & Learning. In her free time, Meredith enjoys watching basketball and football, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Max Walling

Associate Director of Leadership Initiatives

Max Walling, Associate Director of Leadership Initiatives, grew up in Houston, Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Sam Houston State University and his masters of Public Administration from Ball State University in Indiana. Prior to working at SHSU, Max worked in Residence Life at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and in Student Engagement at the Arizona State University School of Sustainability. In his free time, Max can be found watching a baseball game, reading a good book, enjoying time with his wife and loved ones, and playing with his basset hound, Astro.

Daniel Erickson

Student Organizations Specialist

Daniel Erickson, Student Organization Specialist, is originally from Kissimmee, Florida.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Florida State University in 2010.  He then came to Sam Houston State University and earned his Master’s degree in Sport Management.  Prior to working in Leadership Initiatives, Daniel worked for both Binghamton University and Sam Houston State University overseeing Intramural and Club Sports. In his free time he enjoys watching sports, playing board games, and playing intramural sports here at SHSU!

Emily Snider

Program Specialist

Emily Snider, Program Specialist for Leadership Initiatives, is initially from George West, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Human Geography in December of 2016. During her undergraduate career, Emily was heavily involved on campus as a lead SAMbassador at the Visitor Center, a New Student Orientation Leader and an Orange Key Ambassador. She is currently working towards her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration here at Sam Houston State University. When not working or studying, Emily enjoys Netflix, attending concerts with friends and driving to new places in her car, Frodo the Fusion.
