Thailand Culture & Healthcare
This course will explore the culture and healthcare of Thailand. Students will learn physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of how health is viewed and diseases are treated. Some specific lectures will include Eastern medicine, herbal medicine, Thai massage, Buddhist beliefs related to health and the Thai healthcare delivery system including government policies and economic influences. Practical application of lessons will be experienced through hospital and clinic observations, home visits with nurses, visits to a community health center, and observation in a Hill Tribe clinic.

Open to undergraduates & graduates majoring in nursing. Written permission by major advisor required. Pre-requisites.
Students will stay in dorms in Khon Kaen & Phayao and a hotel in Chiang Mai.
Students will travel together on a group flight.
$2900 (including a $600 non-refundable deposit)

Not Included: tuition & fees*, $200 Study Abroad Service Fee, spending money
*Note: Faculty-led, out-of-country courses do not charge 3 fees: Rec Center, Student Center and Health Center=$275, as opposed to on-campus courses.
