Faculty-Led Programs

*Please note that ALL study abroad students are charged a $200 study abroad service fee that is NOT included in the program fees.  It is a separate charge and is in addition to the program fee.  This fee is only assessed after course registration and before departure.

These programs earn resident SHSU credit. See the departments and faculty leaders (as listed) for further information.

Programs mentioned below are from summer and winter 2016.  Summer and winter 2017 program information will be added to this page around 01 October, 2016.  Each program must undergo a formal approval process before it can be advertised.  We appreciate your patience!

Prior to Acceptance (submitted to Study Abroad Coordinator or Faculty Leader):

  • Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program Application (available at the individual program link around 01 Oct)
  • Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program Financial Responsibility Agreement (available at the individual program link around 01 Oct)
  • Copy of Unofficial Transcript

After Acceptance into Program (submitted to Study Abroad Coordinator):

*SHSU will not approve any student travel to locations currently under US Dept. of State Travel Warning or locations that come under Travel Warning at any point in the study abroad process, including after the student has departed the US.  Financial contingency plans should be made to compensate for any penalties incurred due to late program cancellation.  Check the status of your proposed location here.  No exceptions will be considered.
