Registration Expenses

The rates below apply to undergraduate resident (freshman) and undergraduate resident (incoming transfer) students who elect the Guaranteed Payment Plan (GPP) during academic year 2016-2017. NOTE: See also other non-mandatory fees that may be charged for certain services and items.

The above Undergraduate Guaranteed Price Plan schedule is predicated on tuition rates based on $50 per credit hour and designated tuition of $185.24 per credit hour.

However, tuition rates may be revised by the Legislature at any time. All tuition and fees are correct as of the date of print but are subject to change by action of the State Legislature or by the Board of Regents of The Texas State University System.

Anybody taking Sam Houston State University classes at The Woodlands Center will pay an additional fee of $75 per credit hour taken there. In addition, anyone enrolled in courses at a MITC (Multi-institutional teaching center) will pay an additional $75 per semester hour.
