Hobbies & interests: I love to read a good book with a glass of wine on a nice clear, cool day on my patio. I love to travel and see new places. I enjoy spending time with friends and family as much as possible.

Campus involvement/organizations: I am an Executive Board member for National Society of Leadership and Success. I am the Membership Outreach Coordinator.   

Favorite place to eat in Huntsville: Humphery’s 

Favorite spot on campus: The mall area on the campus. 

Most memorable SHSU experience: Being hired on with the Bearkat One Card office, helping new students that come into our office, and becoming an officer for ƩΑΠ. 

Favorite SHSU tradition: Homecoming Parade, The graduation ring ceremony, the school spirit during sporting events. 

Favorite class taken at SHSU: Zoology learning about all the different animals that most people don’t even know about. 

Favorite professor: Dr. Tamara Cook 

One thing you can't leave home without: My Cell Phone and Wallet / Purse. Lately with all the rain an umbrella. 

Why did you choose SHSU?: It is one of the best schools for my degree program 

One of the ways I show Bearkat pride is by: wearing the school shirts and showing off the school colors. 

What has surprised you most about yourself since you came to SHSU?: How big the University is without having that big city feel to it. It has more of a small town vibe where everyone is always willing to help you out if you have a question. 

What advice would you give incoming students?: Keep your mind clear and stay focused, keep your nose in the books and you will do great here at Sam Houston State University.

One fun/random fact about you: I am a Sargent in the United States Army that has been in for 10 years and still going strong. I also have a Associates degree in Pastry Arts. 

After I graduate from SHSU, I hope to: To try to get into a government organization and work Homeland Security with my background and my experience I think I would do great in that field. I am also looking into get my Master’s degree once I graduate from here.
