The goal of the SHSU Alcohol and Drug Abuse Initiative’s “Alcohol & Drug Summit” is to proactively educate SHSU students about risky alcohol and drug use. Each year we focus on raising alcohol and drug awareness while strengthening healthy attitudes and ultimately achieving positive behaviors. Our goal with the Summit is also to show that alcohol and drug-related issues encompass a number of other disciplines. For that reason, several seemingly unrelated areas work together to plan this event. Some of the other departments involved include, the Student Health Center, Counseling Center, Money Management Center, First Year Experience, and College of Business Administration among others. The summit is open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members. Check back for further updates and schedules.
