Assessment

The Office of Academic Planning and Assessment is dedicated to promoting best-practices in higher education assessment. We offer support and assistance to programs, offices, and departments campus-wide with their assessment efforts.  In addition, the Office of Academic Planning and Assessment supports the assessment of Sam Houston State University's Core Learning Objectives.

The Office of Academic Planning and Assessment provides a Meta-assessment rubric.  This rubric is designed to help evaluate the quality of annual assessment plans and can be found on our Assessment Resources page.


Upcoming Assessment Deadlines

  • Assessment Plan Updates (Goals, Objectives, Indicators/Criterion, and KPIs) should be entered by all units by December 1, 2017
  • Assessment Findings and Results should be entered by all units by August 1, 2018
  • Actions and Plan for Continuous Improvement Elements should be entered by all units by September 5, 2018
  • The 2017-2018 Assessment period in CampusLabs will be closed for entry on October 1, 2018
