Professional Librarians, Tenets for Academic Status
Sam Houston State University professional librarians are accorded faculty status and therefore have the same privileges and responsibilities as regular faculty members. Professional librarians are considered full participants in the teaching function both directly through their work with students conducting research and indirectly through developing the collection and organizing it for optimum access.
