“Transfer Scholarships” 
In general, transfer students are eligible for most scholarships at Sam Houston State University.  General scholarship information and applications forms may be obtained at http://www.shsu.edu/~fao_www/scholarships/

Several “grant” based scholarships including NSF grant based scholarships include the PEERS Program (Peers Enhancing their Education through Research and Scholarship) providing up to $5,000 per year for two years in Biology, Geography & Geology, and Mathematics & Statistics: https://www.shsu.edu/nsfgrant.php?college=collin.  A “Texas Youth in Technology” grant provides support for high school and college technology programs including transfer scholarships in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, and Information Assurance http://www.shsu.edu/prospects/transfer/texasyouthtechgrant.html

The Carnegie Commission on Higher Education has ranked Sam Houston State University a "Doctoral Research University." This classification distinguishes the university by placing it in the top 7 percent of all 4,391 ranked private and public institutions of higher education in the United States.
