In addition to its broad general clinical training, the program trains students to become legally informed clinicians who are experienced in applying clinical psychology to legal issues. Students take courses in Mental Health Law and Forensic Assessment and will participate in forensic evaluations, consultation for the courts, and treatment of forensic populations. We currently conduct forensic evaluations for courts in 17 counties. These experiences provide knowledge and basic skills that prepare students who desire substantial forensic psychology expertise for specialized training at the postdoctoral level.
