Hello, my name is Miranda Prado, and I teach the new Kindergarten class at the Brighton location for the SHSU Charter School. I graduated from Sam Houston State University this May of 2017 and have my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Secondary Education. While being a student at Sam Houston State University, I gained many experiences in the field of teaching. I was a teacher’s assistant for the English department for two years. I also worked as a preschool ministry teacher for my church, University Heights Baptist Church. In addition, I also competed on the Sam Houston State University track and cross-country teams while in college. Therefore, I enjoy bringing that passion for sports and fitness into my classroom and gym.

Prior to coming to college, I went to Lorena High School located in Lorena, TX. I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends on the weekends. I also enjoy art projects such as painting, drawing, and arts and crafts projects. I also enjoy teaching as I have very intelligent students who love to learn in the classroom every day.

I enjoy working for the SHSU Charter School, because we have something for everyone. We are able to bring life experiences into the classroom. Our school provides unique experiences to our students, and that is why our students love coming to school every day! I also am a part of an outstanding staff that is both supportive and helpful. Since this is my first year of teaching, it was imperative that I chose a school that would set the foundation for my career. I am truly honored that I get to be a part of such a unique district.
