My path to teaching is a little windy. I graduated from TCU in 2001 with a double major in Marketing and Fashion Merchandising. Jobs in my field were hard to come by at the time. I was then given what turned out to be the best advice: “how about teaching?” It has now been 13 years and I’ve never looked back.
I taught 12 years in the Conroe Independent School District. Most of my years there were spent in 1st grade. I love the challenge and variety teaching offers. You never know what the day holds.
I am an only child and spend a lot of time with my family. I recently adopted a retired racing greyhound. She is a wonderful stress reliever. I love volunteering at the rescue group. The biggest struggle I have is not bringing a new greyhound home every time. I love to travel and try to take a cruise at least once during the summer.
I am so fortunate to have found the SHSU Charter School!! I look forward to the new challenges and memories I will make here.
