Many field stations have long standing traditions of connecting their local communities with science. The importance of this role is now being stressed by the National Science Foundation. The Organization of Biological Field Stations and National Association of Marine Laboratories both strongly endorse the efforts of field stations to interpret science to citizens and policy makers. The SHSU Center for Biological Field Studies is committed to doing its part for the citizens of Walker County and the Pineywoods of East Texas. To that end we are happy to arrange speaking engagements and meetings with interested organizations and persons.
