Born and raised in Brazoria County, Texas, Kelsey graduated from Sam Houston State University in Spring of 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a double minor in Marketing and Management. During her time as a student, Kelsey was actively involved on campus as a New Student Orientation Leader, President of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries and a competitor in the Miss Sam Houston Pageant. Kelsey believes that becoming a Bearkat was one of the best decisions that she has made and is excited to share the Bearkat spirit with everyone she encounters!

Jalon was raised in the small town of Diboll, Texas. He graduated from SHSU in May 2016 with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in History. As a student Jalon was very involved on campus. He worked as a Student Ambassador for the Visitor Center and served as the President of three on-campus organizations which included, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Black Student Alliance. He was also a member of the NAACP and Men of Honor. In 2017 Jalon will begin working on his Masters in Higher Educational Administration. He is a proud Sam Houston State University Alumnus and he is excited to welcome new students to SHSU.

Born and raised in Garland, Texas, Lizzy graduated from Naaman Forest High School in 2011. She came to Sam Houston State as a freshman in fall of 2011 and graduated with a degree in Political Science. While at SHSU, Lizzy was involved with Bearkat Marching Band, Student Government Association and TRUTH college ministries. Lizzy started working with undergraduate admissions as a student assistant in early 2015 then transitioned to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Regional Counselor position. She is excited to be working close to her hometown and bring more Bearkat orange to the Dallas area! She also encourages all students to get involved on campus, have fun, and make good choices. Eat ‘em Up, Kats!

Raised in Huntsville, TX Salvador attended Huntsville High School and he is familiar with the Bearkat family and the orange spirit. Salvador is a first-generation college graduate and started his studies at Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho. He then continued his education at The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Government. Salvador truly enjoys the outdoors, photography, and discussing geopolitics, immigration, sociology and more. Salvador’s love for education drives him to seek higher education for himself and others. As the Austin/Central TX representative and honorary Bearkat, he looks forward to sharing his zeal for education with everyone. Salvador is also a Native Spanish speaker and can meet with Spanish-speaking and English-speaking students as well. Eat 'Em Up Kats!

Meet Victoria White! Born and raised in small town Livingston, TX, Victoria appreciates the sense of community that is found here at Sam Houston. Approaching her 2005 graduation from Livingston High School, Victoria only applied for one school – Sam Houston State University…because her family bleeds orange pride! Following in the footsteps of both her parents, four aunts, one uncle and her older sister, Victoria knew that her time at Sam Houston would produce both a quality education as well as real world skills and life-long friendships. Victoria quickly got involved in student organizations such as Soul Lifters Gospel Choir, NAACP and the Black Student Alliance. Upon graduating from Sam with her Bachelors in Mass Communications and Public Relations, Victoria worked in the non-profit sector for 6 years as a victims’ rights advocate. In June of this year she transitioned into her role here at Sam Houston as an admissions counselor and is super excited to spread some Bearkat spirit across the state of Texas! Eat `Em Up!

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Dustin graduated from St. Gerard Catholic High School in 2006. He attended Palo Alto Community College in San Antonio for two years and graduated with an associates in psychology and criminal justice. He then transferred to Sam Houston State to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While at SHSU, Dustin was a member of Lambda Alpha Epsilon-Criminal Justice Academic Fraternity and the Student Alumni Association. Dustin graduated in August 2012 with his bachelor's degrees. Dustin also graduated in December 2015 with a Master's of Arts in Higher Education Administration. He enjoys playing poker and making people smile. He wants to help students pursue their academic goals and achieve success; he's confident that SHSU will help them reach their full potential.

Molly was born and raised in Mokena, Illinois. She graduated from Sam Houston State University, where she earned her degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Marketing. As a student she worked in the undergraduate admissions office, where she then made the transition to the South Houston Regional Admissions Counselor. While attending SHSU she was a part of the Sam Houston State cheerleading team were she won a collegiate national title in 2012. She enjoys being in the Houston area where she brings lots of Bearkat pride. Molly is proud to be a Bearkat and is excited to share that tradition, honor, and pride with future SHSU students!

Born and raised in San Juan Capistrano, located in Southern California, Josh was a tri-sport athlete and student body president, graduating from Capistrano Valley Christian School in 2011. He attended the University of Oregon, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and minors in Business Administration and Music. After graduating from the University of Oregon in June of 2015, Josh served as a substitute teacher, as well as, a football, baseball, and strength & conditioning coach at the high school level. He has a passion for working with students to help them develop and achieve their personal goals. In June of 2016, Sam Houston State University provided that opportunity to help Josh encourage students and push them to succeed in higher education. Currently, he is working on Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine. As an honorary Bearkat, his advice to all future students is to do whatever it takes to succeed, never give up, and enjoy everything that SHSU has to offer, it will be a life changing experience!

Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Naperville, Illinois, Carissa decided to continue her education at Sam Houston State University! She graduated in December of 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While attending SHSU, she was involved in the Freshman Leadership Program, Student Elective Leadership Initiatives, and participated in the Ms. Sam Houston Pageant. She worked with Intramural Sports and Program Council while also starting her own organization geared towards out of state students. Carissa loves to volunteer and help others. She is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is extremely excited to be helping transfer students who want to become a bearkat! She is determined and ready to help make your time here at SHSU a success!

Carl was born and raised in Nottingham, England. He moved to Texas in 2004 to pursue his education and play college basketball. Carl graduated from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, and Master’s in Educational Leadership. While at the University, he was involved in many aspects of student life and transitioned into their Senior Admissions Counselor, before relocating across the state to SHSU. In his spare time, Carl enjoys numerous sports, and working out. As an honorary Bearkat, specializing in assisting Transfer Students; he encourages our future students to get involved inside and outside of the classroom, while enjoying all that SHSU has to offer.
