The Philosophy Program is developing a "Working Group on Moral Psychology, Democracy, Rights and Applied Ethics"
This is a newly developed interdisciplinary research group that explores the intersection between ethics and other disciplines. We are focusing on the three following topics:
- Rights and international relationships
- Moral psychology, an interdisciplinary approach to ethics that uses both philosophy and psychology to investigate the empirical claims about human psychology presupposed by competing perspectives on ethical theory
- Applied ethics, an ethical perspective on a variety of contemporary issues such as end of life care, abortion, death penalty, animal ethics, attention etc.
As part of this research initiative we are currently holding a series of lectures where faculty present their research, members and non-members are welcomed to attend these lectures!
