Send an official copy of your Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS-V) results to:

Admission criteria for the Nursing Program:
Complete ≥ 46 credit hours with a GPA ≥ 3.0 [including BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, BIOL 2420, and CHEM 1306/1106] of the Pre-Nursing curriculum, prior to application to the Nursing Program.
GPA ≥ 3.0 overall for the 59 hours of the Pre-Nursing curriculum. All grades must be a ‘C’ or better.
TEAS V score ≥ 64: submit an official copy at the BSN level
Nursing applicant advisement by MAHP prior to making application to the Nursing Program is recommended, but not required.
SHSU Students: Those who have completed at least 36 hours of pre-nursing curriculum at SHSU at the time of Nursing Program application will receive admission preference.
Second Degree Students: Those with a previously awarded Bachelor’s Degree and 16 hours of nursing curriculum completed at the time of Nursing Program application will receive admission preference.
Completed the NursingCAS centralized application by the specified deadline
Passed the criminal background check with fingerprint scanning
Students meeting admission criteria will be ranked by GPA; highest GPAs will be admitted.
If you are accepted, you will receive a letter with further instructions.
