Carnival of the Animals

The Project

In collaboration with 3rd and 4th grade art teachers within the Huntsville Independent School District, students listened to Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals, which many of you may recognize from Finale of Disney's Fantasia.

The teachers guided the students as they explored their imaginations and brought to paper--in color and line--what they "saw" in the music. What results are colorful, imaginative creations that easily move between music and art and back again. This work will be on display in the Gaertner Performing Arts Center Atrium and during the concert.

Paula Vásquez will conduct several more workshops during Spring Break week at the Wynne Home Arts Center.
