Maho Sasaki, adjunct faculty of music therapy at Sam Houston State University, holds her degrees in music (B.A.) and in keyboard performance (M.M) from Washington University in St. Louis. She later completed the Master's Equivalency Program at SHSU and received her M.M. in music therapy.
Ms. Sasaki fulfilled her internship at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Stroke/TBI unit and received her music therapist board certification in 2012. She continues to provide in-home music therapy and private piano lesson services to individuals in the Houston area. Ms. Sasaki has provided services to a wide variety of populations including patients in stroke/TBI rehabilitation, individuals with aphasia, Parkinson's disease society, children with autism and cerebral palsy, young adults with developmental disorders and has also worked with children and adolescents at risk with emotional and behavioral disturbances.
