Scholarships

Unless noted, the scholarships below are awarded for the fall semester and assume students will be in residence for a full academic year after the scholarship is awarded. Students who do not plan a full academic year will be awarded half of the available stipend. Students who do not return for the fall term forfeit their scholarship for that year.

Some of the scholarships indicate that the award is available to students who are completing emphases included in the former Department of Journalism. These emphases are print journalism, public relations and advertising.

Occasionally scholarship endowment earnings do not permit the published award. Under these circumstances, either the scholarship will not be awarded that particular year or a smaller amount may be awarded.

Out-of-state students who receive $1,000 or more in university scholarships also receive a waiver of out-of-state tuition.

The deadline to apply for all Mass Communication Scholarships is March 1, 2013.

Winners will be announced on April 1, 2013 and recognized at the Mass Communication Spring Awards Banquet (TBD).
