Wake Up with Honors
Wednesday, August 26 8-11 am--Honors Lounge
This event kicks off the semester the right way with free breakfast, coffee, and juice in the Honors Lounge! New students have a chance to get to know their fellow Honors students in a welcoming and informal format.
HSAC General Meeting, Honors Mandatory Assembly, & Group Photo
Thursday, September 3 4:30 pm--Olson Auditorium
At 4:30 pm, the Honors Student Advisory Council will hold their general meeting to discuss all the upcoming events, community service, and ways you can get involved in the Fall 2015 semester!
At 5:00 pm, Dr. Bell will host the Honors Mandatory Assembly and give general information for the semester and welcome the new Honors College students.
At 5:30 pm, we will meet at the Clock Tower on campus to take our Honors group photo.
Honors Welcome Retreat
Friday-Saturday, September 11-12--Bearkat Camp
Filled with fun and exciting events, the Welcome Retreat is designed for the new Honors students to get to know one another as well as the Honors Student Ambassadors, Honors Faculty & Staff, and the HSAC representatives. If you are a new students, click here to register.
Honors Parents Luncheon
Saturday, September 26 12 pm--LSC Ballroom
Parents join their Honors students for a wonderful meal during Parent Weekend at SHSU. This also provides an opportunity for parents to meet the Honors College faculty and staff.
Spivey Haunted House
Friday, October 30 7 pm--Spivey House
This yearly event is sponsored by the Honors residents in Spivey House as a fundraiser for charity each Halloween.
High School Honors Recognition Dinner
Friday, November 20 6 pm--LSC Ballroom
The Honors College hosts a dinner to honor high school students in their high achievements from across Texas. This is also an opportunity to learn more at the Honors College at SHSU. There are also door prizes and scholarships given after dinner.
Bowers Medallion Ceremony
Thursday, December 3 7 pm--LSC Ballroom
This special event is where Honors graduates received their Honors stole, engraved medallion, and Honors graduation certificate from the Honors College Dean, the graduates college Dean, and the President of the University. It is a wonderful event followed by a small reception for family to witness the closure to your hard work at SHSU.
