Undergraduate Certificate Program

Program Requirements

The undergraduate certificate program consists of three core courses and a minimum of two electives. The students will need to complete a minimum of 15 credits while in the program.

Coursework

Core Courses:

  • GEOG 3363 Computer Cartography (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4464 Introduction to GIS (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4365 Applied GIS (3 credits)

Electives (at least two of the following):

  • GEOG 3351 Economic Geography (3 credits)
  • GEOG 3364 Geo-Spatial Technology (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4333 Field Studies (GPS) (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4357 Population Geography (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4365 Urban Geography (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4369 Transportation Geography (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4468 Remote Sensing (3 credits)
  • GEOG 4375 Readings in Geography (variable credits)
  • Internship in GIS (2 credits)
