NobleMotion Dance's 10th Anniversary

A sneak peek into NobleMotion Dance’s 10th Anniversary.  NobleMotion Dance is one of Texas’s premier contemporary dance companies and has received critical acclaim for their “extraordinary athleticism” and “cutting edge” programming. This program will show highlights from NMD’s Summer Dance Intensive as well as an excerpt of its newest work Unsinkable. To the seas, Unsinkable uses large rocking set pieces that resemble ship masts in a storm. Dancers are propelled, tossed, and catapulted through the air as they work together to right the ship. “Much of my family were immigrants,” states Co-choreographer Andy Noble, “In these polarizing times I wanted to create a dance that reflects the hope and optimism that this country represents.” Set design by Jared Doster, costumes by Barry Doss and light design by David Deveau shape the world.

Artistic Directors of NobleMotion Dance: Andy Noble, Associate Chair/Professor at Sam Houston State University and Dionne Noble, Assistant Professor of Dance at Sam Houston State University.
