Parking
There is parking for patrons with disabilities next to the University Theatre Center. Additional parking for patrons can be found next to the University Theatre Center and across Bobby K. Marks Drive behind the University Theatre Center.
Also the Sam Houston State University Parking Garage is available, located at 1730 Avenue I, the garage is a pay-per-use, or major credit card garage. If you need a Patron Pass or have special needs please call (936-294-3968) when making reservations so that we can be aware and prepared to service your needs.
Directions to the Lowman Student Center
From Interstate 45 (Houston or Dallas)
From Houston
- Take I-45 North to Huntsville, Exit 114
- At the overpass light make a right turn onto FM 1374 (Montgomery Road)
- At the next light, turn left on TX-75 (Sam Houston Avenue)
- Turn right on 16th Street
- For the parking garage (Visa/Mastercard only), turn right onto Avenue I (Ron Randleman Blvd); the parking garage is one block ahead and will be on your right
- For the parking lot behind the Gaertner Performing Arts Center, continue on 16th Street to Bobby K. Marks Blvd, and then turn right; parking lots are available on both sides of the street.
From Dallas
- Take I-45 South to Huntsville, Exit 116
- At the overpass light make a left turn onto Hwy 30 East (also 11th Street)
- Continue on this street to the Courthouse. The first light at the Courthouse is Sam Houston Avenue
- Turn right on Sam Houston Avenue and continue to 16th Street
- Turn left on 16th Street
- For the parking garage (Visa/Mastercard only), turn right onto Avenue I (Ron Randleman Blvd). The parking garage is one block ahead and will be on your right
- For the parking lot behind the Gaertner Performing Arts Center, continue on 16th Street to Bobby K. Marks Blvd, and then turn right. Parking lots are available on both sides of the street
From East (Trinity/Livingston/Nacogdoches)
- Follow Hwy 190 West to downtown Huntsville
- Turn left at the Courthouse onto Sam Houston Avenue and continue to 16th Street
- Turn left on 16th Street
- For the parking garage (Visa/Mastercard only), turn right onto Avenue I (Ron Randleman Blvd). The parking garage is one block ahead and will be on your right
- For the parking lot behind the Gaertner Performing Arts Center, continue on 16th Street to Bobby K. Marks Blvd, and then turn right. Parking lots are available on both sides of the street
From West Austin (via College Station)
- From Bryan/College Station, come into Huntsville on Hwy 30 East
- Continue to the first light at the courthouse, Sam Houston Avenue
- Turn right on Sam Houston Avenue and continue to 16th Street
- Turn left on 16th Street
- For the parking garage (Visa/Mastercard only), turn right onto Avenue I (Ron Randleman Blvd). The parking garage is one block ahead and will be on your right
