Timothy B. Jones

Biography:

Dr. Jones began his public education career as a Classroom Teacher in 1983 in the Clear Creek Independent School District.  After completing his graduate degree, he went into school district financial consulting for two years until accepting a central office administrative position for the Nacogdoches Independent School District.  In 1997, he accepted a Clinical Instructor position at Stephen F. Austin State University where he taught in the teacher and administrator preparation programs.  In 2000, he accepted a faculty appointment with The University of Texas at Tyler as an Assistant Professor.  While at UT Tyler he co-founded The Principal Institute on Restructured Schools and The Superintendent Institute.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors and President Elect of the Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration.  In 2004, he joined the faculty at Texas A&M University-Commerce as an Associate Professor and ultimately the EDAD program head. This year (2008) he joined the doctoral faculty at Sam Houston State University. "I am excited to join this accomplished faculty in Educational Leadership and Counseling. Sam Houston State University has a rich history in preparing quality educational leaders in Texas and beyond."
