Courses Designed to Satisfy CNA In-Service Requirements

SHSU Continuing Education offers courses designed to satisfy in-service education requirements to Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs). Each of the offered courses is developed by the department in accordance with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Course topics include, but are not limited to, Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.


When registering for in-service training, a date of August 31, 2018 is listed; however, there is open enrollment for these courses, you can start at any time.

Three (3) business days after registering, you will receive an email from with instruction to begin your course.

**All CNAs must complete this course prior to enrolling in other in-service courses. This is a requirement of DADS.

Students who are interested in obtaining in-service hours though SHSU have the opportunity to take their training online. Students can earn anywhere from an hour of training credit up to four hours or more depending on the training title. As another means to meet your needs, you can select from our array of training sections and can choose to take as many as you like to meet your in-service needs.

Once you have completed the training, you will have an opportunity to print a certificate of completion. The first one is free to you as a student, each additional copy will cost an additional $5.00.
