Graduate Degree Business Programs

The College of Business Administration offers three advanced degrees: a comprehensive, AACSB International accredited Master of Business Administration [BADM] program serving both traditional and non-traditional students; a Master of Science in Accounting [ACCT] programdesigned to provide students with the advanced study in accounting necessary to prepare for the CPA examination; and our newest addition, aMaster of Science in Project Management [PMGT], targeted toward professionals engaged in managing the project life cycle in organizations and industries.

To provide greater flexibility for individuals with demanding schedules, students accepted into the MBA or Project Management programs may elect to take all or any portion of the program online, or with face-to-face courses at The Woodlands Center (most courses at TWC are offered in the evenings), or with face-to-face courses at the main campus in Huntsville.

The MS in Accounting can be completed in one year (12 months) by full-time students who first enroll in either the fall or summer semesters; however, the courses in this program are offered only during the day at the Huntsville campus, not online or in evenings or at The Woodlands Center.

Additionally, COBA offers a fully accredited Executive MBA Degree in Banking and Financial Institutions [EMBA]. The EMBA is a unique cohort program that offers flexibility to bankers and regulators who have difficulty pursuing a conventional MBA due to scheduling and time constraints.  This program is managed through the Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking.

Sam Houston State University’s College of Business Administration offers high-quality, price-competitive graduate programs.  Tuition and fees vary by location and/or delivery mode.  For instance, courses taken at The Woodlands Center incur a fee of $50 per credit hour.  Similarly, online courses incur an additional charge of $101 per credit hour.  These additional fees are offset by the convenience of taking courses online or nearer to work or home.  In addition, if a student enrolls in only online courses, several other University fees are waived.

Admission requirements for the programs are identical regardless of location or mode of delivery:

Master of Business Administration [BADM]

Master of Science in Accounting [ACCT]

Master of Science in Project Management [PMGT]
