The Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking at Sam Houston State University will host the 2nd Annual Texas Bankers Hall of Fame Gala and 18th Annual Bank Executives’ and Directors’ Seminar and Golf Tournament on April 24 and 25, 2014. The Inaugural Texas Bankers Hall of Fame Gala held in April 2013 was a huge success, and I believe, sent an encouraging message about an industry that serves our communities in such a positive way. We were truly honored to recognize the Inaugural recipients, Robert A. Hulsey, Kenneth T. Murphy, Walter Johnson and The Late Walter G. Lacy, Jr. at this event and are preparing to honor another group of distinguished Texas bankers at our upcoming event on April 24, 2014.
The following day, The Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking will hold the 18th Annual Bank Executives’ and Directors’ Seminar and Golf Tournament at Elkins Lake Recreational Facility. The seminar will offer you several presentations on hot topics, as well as, banking regulatory issues discussed with key regulators moderated by Sam Golden with Alvarez & Marsal. Sponsorships are available for this single event or can be coupled with the Gala sponsorship. I hope you will consider making plans to join us for one or both events. Please make your reservations early as we expect another large crowd this next year. (See “Register”)
