Profile of Ilonka Rus
Transylvanian born pianist, Ilonka Rus distinguishes herself as an artist of unusual versatility. She has appeared as a recitalist and concert artist with numerous orchestras and chamber music ensembles throughout Romania, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and The United States. She has served as a collaborative pianist for the Forth Worth Ballet and for the Texas Christian University in Forth Worth.
Ms Rus is pursuing a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in Piano Collaborative and Chamber Music with a minor in Organ at the University of Houston. Professor Rus, holds a Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Houston, an Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University, a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory and a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from the Music Academy in Bucharest, Romania.
Ms. Rus is presently a Professor of Music at the Sam Houston University after serving on the music faculty at Bridges Academy of Fine Arts and at the Fay school in Houston.
