Audition Advantage! Workshop
Sam Houston State University is proud to present its sixth annual Audition Advantage! workshop, helping students who are auditioning for region (and area and all-state) bands. Although we have been serving the ATSSB schools for five years, we are now opening up the workshop to students from all size schools. We are holding two tracks, one for TMEA music (4A and 5A schools), and one for ATSSB music (1A, 2A, and 3A schools).
General Info
On Saturday, September 22, 2007, starting at 8:00 AM for TMEA and 11:00 AM for ATSSB, the winds, brass, percussion faculty of the School of Music will present workshop sessions on the region band audition music. These sessions will allow your students to receive individual attention from our accomplished teachers, and will cover everything from beginning practice to final, well-rehearsed performance.
There will be a concert by our faculty to inspire your students and some musical warm-up activities to get everyone involved. We will also provide lunch for each student.
What to Bring and Cost
Students need to bring music stands to be used throughout the day. The cost is $20 per student (fee waived for previous All-State students). Registration begins now, and will continue through Monday, September 17, 2007. After this date, late registration is an additional $5 per student ($25 total).
