TEXAS HIGHER EDUCATION
ASSESSMENT-QUICK TEST (THEA-QT) --
(Sam
Houston State University Policy - Revised 02/25/2008)
| 1. |
DATES AND TIMES: The
THEA-QT exams are administered Monday - Friday at 8:00 a.m.
When the registration/administration fee is paid information
about the test is given to the examinee or, if registering
by mail or phone, the information will be mailed to the examinee
if time allows. |
| 2. |
REGISTRATION/ADMINISTRATION FEE: A non-refundable,
non-transferable registration/administration fee of $30.00 is
charged to register for the THEA-QT. Students may register
for a scheduled test date by coming to the Testing Center in
Academic Building IV, Room 102, paying the required registration/administration
fee (check, money order, or MasterCard or Visa), and having
their name placed on the testing list. If registering by mail,
a check or money order (made payable to SHSU) or a credit card
number and expiration date (Visa or MasterCard) must be sent
along with a note indicating the examinee's name, address, social
security number, requested date for testing, and phone number
where the student can be reached. Registrations will be done
on a first come-first served basis or until the testing room
is full, whichever comes first. |
| 3. |
REPORTING TIME: Students
need to report to the testing site no later than 7:45 a.m.
on the scheduled testing date. A maximum of five hours of actual
testing time is allowed once the timing of the test has begun.
Examinees arriving for a test after 8:00 a.m. will not be allowed
to begin testing and will not have their registration/administration
fee refunded. Also, the registration/administration fee will
not be transferable to another testing date. |
| 4. |
TEST FEE: There is a $29.00
test fee that is paid on the day of the test.
This fee is separate from the registration/administration fee
and must be paid by check or money order made payable to "NES"
or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard). The THEA-QT will not
be scored unless this test fee is returned with the test to
the testing company. |
| 5. |
ITEMS NEEDED AND POLICIES CONCERNING FAMILY AND/OR
FRIENDS: Students need to bring the following items
on the day of the test: a current picture identification,
a second form of ID (i.e. social security card, birth
certificate, school ID, etc.) and the $29.00 test fee.
Simple four-function, non-programmable calculators (with square
root and percent keys) are optional (no graphing or scientific
calculators will be allowed). ALSO, family and/or friends are
not allowed to wait for an examinee while they are testing.
They will be informed about am approximate time the examinee
will finish testing and will be asked to return at that time
to pick-up the examinee. If children are brought to the Testing
Center and expected to wait until the examinee finishes testing
the examinee will be refused their testing opportunity for that
day. If they wish to reschedule for another testing date they
will be required to pay the registration/administration fee
again. Examinees will not be allowed to begin testing
without proper identification and the $29.00 test fee and testing
will not be delayed waiting for an examinee to present these
items. |
| 6. |

in the courses they may register for until such time as they
