** Ugboo's Big Problem (3 HD Disks)
For the primary grades to introduce one-to-one correspondence
as Ugboo (a shepherd boy whose tribe has only the numbers one, two, and
many} uses pebbles to keep track of his sheep.
· Tal's Aching Back (2 HD Disks)
Primary grades: Follows Ugboo as Tal (to end constant back pain from carrying
sacks of pebbles) invents tally marks to keep track of his sheep.
· Boggy Makes Her Mark (2 HD Disks)
Primary: Follows Tal to begin grouping in tens and invents a primitive numeration
system (the Egyptian System).
* Skeeter McGeeter and the Meter (2 HD Disks)
Use in early grades help introducing meter and decimeter through the adventures
of Skeeter who is a meter tall.
· Introducing Multiplication
(2 HD Disks)
Use in grades 2/3 and up. The meaning is developed through the use of array
patterns.
· The Multiplication Facts (2 HD
Disks)
Use wherever the facts are taught or reviewed. Strategies for attacking
the facts are developed.

· Estimation (1 HD Disk)
Use in grades 4, 5, or 6. Emphasizes the extent to which the need to estimate
is embedded into our everyday lives.
· Multiply Fractions and Decimal Fractions (2 HD Disk)
Useful where ever this topic is introduced or reviewed. Utilizes the array
model promoted in the stacks above to help students discover the rules for
themselves.
· Area (2 HD Disks)
Introduces area formulas from rectangle through trapezoid.
** Area of a Circle (2 HD Disks)
Useful wherever it is introduced or reviewed. This stack helps students
make sense of the formula by inscribing and circumscribing squares in and
about a circle.
· Understanding Percent (3 HD Disks)
Useful wherever percent is introduced or reviewed. The stack emphasizes
the relationship between fractions, decimal fractions, and percents.
** Solving Word Problems With Percent (2 HD Disks)
Wherever it is introduced or reviewed. Makes use of a unique percent
bar model to take the mystery out of solving percent word problems.
· Adding Integers (3 HD Disks)
Useful wherever this topic is introduced or reviewed. Makes strategic use
of 8, 9, and 10-destroyers to help kids discover rules for themselves.
· Understanding Variables (2 HD Disks)
Probably useful mainly grade 6-8 or up but can be used with any group that
is competent with all four basic operations. Helps students really get a
feeling for what a variable is by working in limited domains of numbers.
