Degree Description
The Master of Arts Degree in General Psychology offered through the University Center Campus is comprised of 36 hours of academic course work and is a non-thesis degree program.
Courses are offered each semester in such a manner that over a two-year period (six semesters) students will be able to complete the degree. With computer facilities at the University Center, the libraries on SHSU campus and Montgomery College campus, plus other libraries in the Houston area, adequate resources are available to students enrolled in the program.
A person with a degree in General Psychology can pursue junior college teaching, use the degree for preparation toward a Ph.D. program, enter various research enterprises, or work in governmental agencies, etc.
Advisement sessions are scheduled periodically at the University Center campus.
