Welcome to the web page of the Sam Houston Council for Exceptional
Children. SCEC is a student organization dedicated to meeting the needs of
parents, students, and educators of children with disabilities. We hold
monthly meetings designed around current topics in the field of special
education. In addition, SCEC hosts an Annual Conference titled "Meeting the Needs
of ALL Learners", which along with monthly meetings, provides a means of awarding professional development to
it's members. Currently, the SCEC chapter has nearly 100 active members and meets at
the newly renovated Teacher Education Center on the campus of Sam Houston State University, A Member of the Texas State University System. Members
and non-members are invited to all events.
