MY EFFORT |
| Draw trees |

| Pixel People |
Your kids know how to do this...but do you? Use
creations as icons on web pages, for any illustrations you may want. Some kids make very complex drawings this way. http://tutorials.cetric.com/?v=display&cat=mspaint&id=1&page=1 |

| Structured Tesselations |
These were easy for me, and also look at other
options at this site: http://www.teachers.ash.org.au/geparker/ creating_tessellations_using_microsoft_paintbrush.htm |
Tesselations From Triangles |
| Make A Fish-- Tesselations |
These were a little harder, might be a second activity
in tesselation making. They are inspired by the work of M.C. Escher:

Fish Tesselations |
Puzzle |
Open a picture of a person, place, animal, etc.
that you are studying. Using the select tool, section the picture into squares.
Holding the shift key down while you are using the rectangle tool results
in perfect squares. Rotate the squares. I did not even move them around,
just rotated. Have the kids reassemble, then identify the picture and look
up information about it. |
Bluebonnet Puzzle |
| Wrapping paper |
As with tesselations, do this by copying, rotating,
pasting. I used a couple of images that students had done of flowers--would
make nice wrapping paper for Mother's Day gifts. |
