EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor's degree with a major in management information systems or computer science from an accredited institution. Five (5) years relevant experience in directly related field. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.

NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position provides the necessary support for the daily functioning of the assigned college or division technological systems. This position will provide the support staffing necessary to meet real-time technology requirements and organizes the automated technology needs of the assigned college or division, to include analyzing and recommending operational improvements, monitoring/troubleshooting computer/network systems, and supervising and participating in technical support and training for all automated systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates the maintenance, monitoring, and upgrades for hardware and software within the college or division. Coordinates purchases and installation of all technological hardware for the college or division. Serve as backup for SAP and Oracle database administrator. Assist in managing and maintaining computers (desktops, laptops, and servers) in classrooms, computer labs, and faculty offices within the college or division as well as general and specific software for teaching and research. Assist in repairs to hardware and troubleshooting software for all systems. Coordinates and assists with training faculty and staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:

Requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively throughout the university with professional staff. Interprets and implements complex policies. Work requires considerable judgment and sound reasoning to solve problems. Work requires attention to detail as errors may be potentially serious.
