  • Nicholas C. J. Pappas has been on the SHSU faculty since 1990. His areas of research interest are geographically Southeastern Europe, Byzantium, Russia, and the Middle East and the thematically military and diplomatic history.   His publications can be found in his CV linked to his personal page.

 

  • He teaches survey courses in World History, 300-level courses on Ancient, European, Middle Eastern and Russian history, and graduate courses on Byzantine, military and diplomatic history.

 

  • He also serves as Vice-President of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER).   He is head of the History Research Unit of the Institute and one of the organizers of the International Conference on Ancient and Modern History, sponsored by ATINER every December in Athens, Greece.
