Carlos Vargas-Silva
Carlos Vargas-Silva is an Assistant Professor of
economics at SHSU. Previously he was a George Washington Henderson
Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Vermont. His research interests are
Workers’ Remittances, Migration, Exchange Rates, Monetary Policy,
Housing and Time Series Econometrics. One strand of his research
examines the relationship between remittances and the macroeconomic
variables of the remittance receiving countries. Another analyzes
the impact of demographic factors on the amounts remitted.
