Kim has explored an intersection of artistic expression with scientific methods that expressed concepts of transcendence and spirituality in Buddhism. Kim continues to research the investigation of artistic ideas that merge to scientific technology. In conjunction with her research, Kim emphasizes experimentation conceptually and technically in graphic design education.
During the past few years, Kim has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Her work, Meditation, was selected for the SIGGRAPH 2004 and exhibited in the Art Gallery at Los Angeles Convention Center. In 2005 she was invited to a solo exhibition of Spiritual Union and a lecture of Graphic Design Education in America at Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea. In additions, she received the award of Best of Show with a cash prize for "Meditation" in the 3rd Cleveland Biennial Juried Exhibition in 2005. Additionally as a graphic designer, Kim was responsible for the environmental graphics for the Center of Energy Studies and Department of Environmental Studies in the new 150,000 sq. ft Energy, Coast & Environment Building at Louisiana State University. In addition, she was in charge of promotional graphics and displays for one of the largest department stores in Seoul, Korea. She also worked poster, brochure, postcard, logo, and newsletters for the School of Art Gallery and International Hospitality Foundation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. |
